Hosta Speaker at Northland Library

Marilyn Gurtner, one of our garden club members, thought we would be interested in a Hosta speaker....see below from the Sunday Post Gazette........ 

"World-renowned hosta experts Mike and Kathy Shadrack will speak from
1 to 4 pm. April 20 at the Northland Public Library, 300 Cumberland Road,
McCandless (15237). This talk is free and open to the public and is part of the
Daffodil & Hosta Society's meeting.

The couple have been growing hostas since 1986 at Smug Creek Gardens in Buffalo, NY. He is co-author with Diana Grenfell and photographer of the  2004 book 'The Color Encyclopedia of Hostas' and the 2007 Timber Press Pocket Guide to Hostas. Mrs. Shadrack's 'The Book of Little Hostas' was published in 2010.

The society will hold its annual hosta show June 1 at Soergel Orchards, 2573 Brandt School Road".
