Pines Tavern Lunch --- Colleen Fingal welcomed us into a festive tavern with a
separate room for us. Lunch was well served and finished with Colleen’s
selection of purchased, exquisitely decorated cakes for dessert. The white
elephant gift exchange table was ladened with gaily wrapped items for selection
after gift exchange leader Helen Dean’s instructions. Laughter followed all of
the choices especially the brisk trading of treasures.
·
Thank you --- Claudia Hickly thanked Colleen for the lunch arrangements and Helen
for the gift exchange. She wished everyone Happy Holidays and looked forward to
seeing us in January 2018.

Meeting January 23, “Winter Sowing,” a hands-on activity to get a head start on some of our
seeds, will be led by Janine Zink. Ideally members should bring: 3 or 4
gallon milk jugs and/or large rectangular clear plastic lettuce/salad
containers (the ones you buy your spring mix in and typically throw away),
gloves, if you like, and a variety of seeds of your choosing (lettuce, tomatoes
and other slower-growing vegetables work well as do perennial flower seeds).
Janine will provide the potting soil, and help us add "ventilation"
holes in our containers.
Calendar:

Sowing," by Janine Zink (see above)
