Cherry Dessert Cake Bars Recipe                                 from Colleen Fingal
1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix (could use white cake mix)
1/4 cup butter or 4 tablespoons, melted
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (20 ounce) can cherry pie filling

Mix the dry cake mix with the 4 tablespoons melted butter, milk, eggs and vanilla extract using a mixer. Spray a 10 x 15 jelly roll pan with cooking spray. Spread the cake mixture over the bottom of the pan (it will be sticky). Drop the cherry pie filling by teaspoons on top of the cake mix. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Drizzle on powdered sugar glaze below.
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
1 tsp almond extract

Whisk together and drizzle over cake.

Add nuts and coconut to cake before baking.
