Suffragist Grove Hartwood Acres - July 8, 2026
This was an Allegheny County Parks Foundation project to enhance the historic Suffragist Grove at Hartwood Acres with new plantings. Longvue Acres Garden Club members and other volunteers weeded and planted ground cover perennials to beautify the grove and provide valuable habitat and food sources for insects, pollinators, and other wildlife. It was a hot, humid morning but well worth the effort! Thanks to ACPF for organizing the project. We can’t wait to see how this garden grows.
